Biography
Singer and songwriter
Giada Valenti is recognized for her special voice and great stage
presence. With her latest CD, And
I Love You So, and live show,
entitled Tribute To Love,
Giada is bringing her romantic music and her
elegant style to music fans worldwide. She currently selling out in
Performing Arts Centers all over the United States, with a show where
she takes her audience on a romantic musical journey performing love
songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s, combined with several of her own
penned songs.
Born and raised in Venice, Italy, Giada Valenti started to sing and
play piano at the age of seven. She began touring professionally with a
band by age twelve. She studied piano and music theory at the Santa
Cecilia music school in Venice and got her music degree at the G.
Tartini in Trieste. While she was studying psychology at the University
of Padova, she met the love of her life and moved to The Netherlands.
She participated in the song contest "San Remo New Talents in the
World", a contest held annually for Italians living abroad and won with
her pop ballad Solo
Con Te (Only With You). This led to a record
contract with BMG in The Netherlands and had several hits in the
charts. One of her songs was even used in a radio and television
commercial for Piaggio scooters.
When in 2004 her music got serious interest from a major record label
in New York, she made a bold career move and decided to spend most of
her time in United States. In December 2005, Giada's self-released CD
Italian Signorina was launched in the USA to great reviews. Italian
Signorina featured the song Caruso that Giada
performed on the red
carpet at the Columbus Day Parade in New York City in 2005, 2006, and
2007 in New York City. Giada has performed a selection of songs of her
new CD And I Love You So
at the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 edition of
this parade, and was featured on NBC4 and ABC7 Television.
In October 2008 Giada was named Woman
of the Year by the Organization
of Italian Charities In America. In February 2010 she was honored by
the Commision for Social Justice of the Order Sons of Italy in America
for being a good
Italian role model. In October of 2011 Giada was
awarded the Merit of Honor by the Borough President of Queens, NY for
her outstanding cultural contribution to the Italian community in the
USA.
Producer Sonny Grosso and fourteen times Grammy winning record producer
Phil Ramone selected Giada for a role in the Broadway musical Be My
Love, based on the life story of tenor Mario Lanza.
Over the past five years, Giada also performed her own original shows
La Dolce Vita Swings
and Moonlight &
Romance, in sold
out-theatres in New York. During these shows, she takes her audience on
a journey across the Atlantic, singing the most beautiful Italian and
American love songs. In June 2007, with her show Tribute To The
European Divas, Giada made her debut at one of the most
exclusve places
to perform in the U.S.: Feinstein's at the Regency in New York City,
where she has become a regular. In 2009 Giada made her debut in
Atlantic City with a sold out concert at the Hilton Casino &
Resort.
Saturday, October 20, 2012 she will make her debut at the prestigious
venue
Carnegie Hall in New York City, headlining a concert accompanied by a
full orchestra
